This First Sunday of Lent sets the tone for the whole season of Lent. We should be reflecting on the themes of salvation, temptation, and trust. As we do this, we can grow closer to God and prepare our hearts for Easter. Each of these themes helps us to see God's work in our lives and to live with greater faith.

This week we are invited to trust in God and resist temptation. We should open our hearts and deepen our faith. Salvation is not just for a few but is offered to all who call on the Lord. God's love is there for everyone, no matter who they are. Scripture states that there is no difference between Jew and Gentile. We need to share this message and welcome others to experience God's love.

Remember, we are not the only ones that face temptation. If you paid attention to the readings today, we hear that even Jesus faced temptations in the desert. Each time He was tempted, He was challenged to choose between comfort and staying true to God the Father's mission for Him. By Jesus resisting, we are shown that His trust in His Father's plan is stronger than any earthly offering.

The first temptation is for physical comfort. The second temptation is for worldly power. The third temptation is for glory. These temptations are relevant to us as well. We face similar challenges in our lives. By following Jesus' example, we can resist temptations and stay focused on our mission to serve God and others.

We are encouraged to rely on Scripture and prayer to resist temptations that try to pull us away from God. If this was good enough for Jesus, it should be good enough for us! Lent is an opportunity to build our trust in God through prayer, fasting, and acts of charity. Did you know that Jesus's time in the desert, His 40 days, is a model for our 40 days of Lent?

We are called to share this message with others. Just as God's love is inclusive, so should our outreach be. We should welcome and support everyone in their journey toward faith. Our actions should reflect the inclusiveness of God's love. Living out this message means being open to others. It means being willing to listen, help, and guide those who seek God.

It also means living a life that reflects God's love and mercy, showing others the way to salvation through our example. Remember to always give thanks to God for your blessings. Offer your best efforts and gifts to God in your daily life.

This year, take the season of Lent seriously. We are now four days into Lent, and if you have not done a great job so far, do not let that get you down. Start again today.

Primer domingo de Cuaresma: Salvación, confianza y resistencia a la tentación

Este primer domingo de Cuaresma marca el tono para toda la temporada de Cuaresma. Deberíamos reflexionar sobre los temas de la salvación, la tentación y la confianza, y al hacerlo, podemos acercarnos más a Dios y preparar nuestros corazones para la Pascua. Cada uno de estos temas nos ayuda a ver la obra de Dios en nuestras vidas y a vivir con mayor fe.

Esta semana estamos invitados a confiar en Dios y resistir la tentación. Debemos abrir nuestros corazones y profundizar nuestra fe. La salvación no es solo para unos pocos, sino que se ofrece a todos los que invocan al Señor. El amor de Dios está ahí para todos, sin importar quiénes sean. Las Escrituras afirman que no hay diferencia entre judíos y gentiles. Necesitamos compartir este mensaje y dar la bienvenida a otros para que experimenten el amor de Dios.

Recuerde que no somos los únicos que enfrentamos la tentación. Si prestaste atención a las lecturas de hoy, escuchamos que incluso Jesús enfrentó tentaciones en el desierto. Cada vez que fue tentado, fue desafiado a elegir entre la comodidad y mantenerse fiel a la misión que Dios Padre le dio. Al resistir Jesús, se nos muestra que su confianza en el plan de su Padre es más fuerte que cualquier ofrenda terrenal.

La primera tentación es la de la comodidad física. La segunda tentación es la del poder mundano. La tercera tentación es la de la gloria. Estas tentaciones también son relevantes para nosotros. Enfrentamos desafíos similares en nuestras vidas. Al seguir el ejemplo de Jesús, podemos resistir las tentaciones y mantenernos enfocados en nuestra misión de servir a Dios y a los demás.

Se nos anima a confiar en las Escrituras y la oración para resistir las tentaciones que intentan alejarnos de Dios. Si esto fue lo suficientemente bueno para Jesús, ¡debería ser lo suficientemente bueno para nosotros! La Cuaresma es una oportunidad para fortalecer nuestra confianza en Dios a través de la oración, el ayuno y los actos de caridad. ¿Sabías que el tiempo de Jesús en el desierto, sus 40 días, es un modelo para nuestros 40 días de Cuaresma?

Estamos llamados a compartir este mensaje con los demás. Así como el amor de Dios es inclusivo, también debe serlo nuestro alcance. Debemos dar la bienvenida y apoyar a todos en su camino hacia la fe. Nuestras acciones deben reflejar la inclusividad del amor de Dios. Vivir este mensaje significa estar abiertos a los demás. Significa estar dispuesto a escuchar, ayudar y guiar a quienes buscan a Dios.

También significa vivir una vida que refleje el amor y la misericordia de Dios, mostrando a los demás el camino a la salvación a través de nuestro ejemplo. Recuerde siempre dar gracias a Dios por sus bendiciones. Ofrezca sus mejores esfuerzos y dones a Dios en su vida diaria.

Este año, tómese en serio la temporada de Cuaresma. Ya estamos en el cuarto día de Cuaresma y, si hasta ahora no ha hecho un gran trabajo, no permita que eso lo desanime. Comience de nuevo hoy.
