Palm Sunday calls us to trust God and follow Jesus with faith and obedience. As we meditate on the events of Palm Sunday, we are reminded of Jesus’ unwavering faith and obedience. Let us open our hearts to welcome Him and live according to His teachings. May we find strength and hope in His love and sacrifice and strive to follow His example every day.

Think about this: How can we glorify Jesus one day and then crucify Him on the cross later? Jesus does deserve to be glorified for the great love that He has for us. This was shown to us when He suffered and died for us on the cross on Calvary. Do you know of anyone else that would take on so much suffering and then die for you? Jesus sacrificed His own comfort, including His body and blood, to take our punishment that we deserve for our own sins. We should rejoice gratefully for this every Sunday with hosannas and admiration, for in the Eucharist we reunite ourselves with that tremendous love.

In today’s readings, we hear about the events leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion, including the Last Supper, His arrest, trial, and eventual crucifixion. We hear about the shame and suffering associated with this form of execution, as well as the magnitude of Jesus’ love for humanity. Imagine yourself in the scene and consider how you would respond if you were there. Jesus faced false accusations and remained silent, showing His trust in God’s plan. Through His suffering and resurrection, Jesus offers salvation to all. Remember that when we feel powerless or afraid, we can remember that Jesus invites us to be with Him in His suffering, giving us the strength to face our own challenges.

Starting today, we should begin to reflect on the events of Holy Week, including Good Friday. Good Friday is a solemn day when Catholics remember the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, who died to redeem humanity. On this day, there is no Mass, but special services are held. Here at St. Catherine Laboure, there will be Stations of the Cross, a live Passion, and a service that includes the reading of the Passion narrative, the veneration of the cross, and a bare altar, symbolizing Jesus’ death. The congregation also receives Communion from hosts consecrated on Holy Thursday.

Following Jesus requires faith and obedience. We need to submit our will to His and trust in His plan. Just as the people laid down their cloaks and palm branches, we must be willing to surrender everything to Him. (pc)

El Domingo de Ramos nos llama a confiar en Dios y a seguir a Jesús con fe y obediencia. Al meditar sobre los acontecimientos del Domingo de Ramos, recordamos la fe y la obediencia inquebrantables de Jesús. Abramos nuestro corazón para recibirlo y vivir según sus enseñanzas. Que encontremos fuerza y esperanza en su amor y sacrificio, y nos esforcemos por seguir su ejemplo cada día.

Piensa en esto: ¿cómo podemos glorificar a Jesús un día y luego crucificarlo en la cruz? Jesús merece ser glorificado por el gran amor que nos tiene.
