This Sunday’s readings invite us to think about how we talk to God. We are reminded that prayer is not just about saying words but, it is about trust, hope, and knowing that God is listening. Abraham speaks honestly with God. He asks questions and waits for answers. Jesus teaches his disciples how to pray, giving them the Lord’s Prayer. Each phrase of the prayer reflects a deep relationship with God, focusing on His holiness, His will, and our reliance on Him for daily needs, forgiveness, and guidance. Praying the Lord’s Prayer thoughtfully can help us grow closer to God. Reflecting on each part of the prayer encourages us to align our lives with its meaning.

This practice reminds us to trust in God’s care, seek His forgiveness, and strive to live according to His will, just as Jesus taught. Prayer is a way to build a deeper relationship with God. Jesus teaches us the Our Father and tells us to keep asking, seeking, and knocking. God is not far away. He wants to hear from us and give us special gifts. Jesus says God gives good gifts to those who ask. This reminds us to trust in God, who loves and provides for us. In baptism we received a new life, and we are reminded that God forgives our sins so we should be alive with Christ.

This is the good news that gives us courage to keep praying. Abraham and Jesus teach the importance of continuing to ask God for help. Both show that faith means trusting God will listen and respond. Abraham asks God to spare the innocent when Sodom is judged. Abraham’s prayer for Sodom shows the power of asking God to help others. Prayer is not just for ourselves but for those in need. God is both fair and full of mercy. Paul tells the Colossians that their sins are forgiven because of Jesus. This shows that faith brings new life and freedom from sin.

We should trust in God and turn to Him in pray with faith, knowing that He listens and cares for us. Abraham’s boldness in speaking to God shows that we, too, can approach Him with our worries and hopes. God listens when we pray for others and seeks to help us in ways we may not always see. We need to care deeply for others and to trust in God’s kindness. Jesus teaches that God provides good things to His children. Just as a parent meets the needs of their family, God hears our prayers and responds. This does not mean we always get what we ask for, but we can trust that God knows what is best for us.

The readings remind us to trust in God’s love and mercy, even in difficult times. They encourage us to pray with faith, knowing that God listens and cares deeply for us and for those we bring to Him in prayer. As we reflect on these themes, we are reminded of the im portance of prayer in every part of our lives. We are encouraged to trust God more fully, pray more sincerely, and rely on His love for guidance and strength. St. Therese of Lisieux described prayer as a surge of the heart. Pedir, Confiar, Recibir

Las lecturas de este domingo nos invitan a reflexionar sobre cómo hablamos con Dios. Recordamos que orar no se trata solo de decir palabras, sino de confiar, esperar y saber que Dios escucha. Abraham habla con Dios con sinceridad. Hace preguntas y espera respuestas. Jesús enseña a sus discípulos a orar, dándoles el Padrenuestro. Cada frase de la oración refleja una profunda relación con Dios, centrándose en su santidad, su voluntad y nuestra confianza en él para las necesidades diarias, el perdón y la guía. Rezar el Padrenuestro con atención puede ayudarnos a acercarnos a Dios. Reflexionar sobre cada parte de la oración nos anima a alinear nuestras vidas con su significado.

Esta práctica nos recuerda que debemos confiar en el cuidado de Dios, buscar su perdón y esforzarnos por vivir conforme a su voluntad, tal como enseñó Jesús. La oración es una manera de construir una relación más profunda con Dios. Jesús nos enseña el Padrenuestro y nos dice que sigamos pidiendo, buscando y llamando. Dios no está lejos. Quiere escucharnos y darnos dones especiales. Jesús dice que Dios da buenas dádivas a quienes las piden. Esto nos recuerda que debemos confiar en Dios, quien nos ama y nos provee. En el bautismo recibimos una nueva vida y se nos recuerda que Dios perdona nuestros pecados, por lo que debemos estar vivos con Cristo.

Esta es la buena noticia que nos da valor para seguir orando. Abraham y Jesús enseñan la importancia de seguir pidiendo ayuda a Dios. Ambos muestran que la fe significa confiar en que Dios escuchará y responderá. Abraham le pide a Dios que perdone a los inocentes cuando Sodoma sea juzgada. La oración de Abraham por Sodoma muestra el poder de pedirle a Dios que ayude a los demás. La oración no es solo por nosotros, sino por los necesitados. Dios es justo y misericordioso. Pablo les dice a los colosenses que sus pecados son perdonados por Jesús. Esto demuestra que la fe trae nueva vida y libertad del pecado.

Debemos confiar en Dios y acudir a él en oración con fe, sabiendo que él nos escucha y se preocupa por nosotros. La valentía de Abraham al hablar con Dios demuestra que nosotros también podemos acercarnos a él con nuestras preocupaciones y esperanzas. Dios escucha cuando oramos por otros y busca ayudarnos en maneras que no siempre podemos ver. Necesitamos cuidar profundamente a los demás y confiar en la bondad de Dios. Jesús enseña que Dios provee cosas buenas a Sus hijos. Así como un padre satisface las necesidades de su familia, Dios escucha nuestras oraciones y responde. Esto no significa que siempre obtengamos lo que pedimos, pero podemos confiar en que Dios sabe lo que es mejor para nosotros.

Las lecturas nos recuerdan que debemos confiar en el amor y la misericordia de Dios, incluso en tiempos difíciles. Nos animan a orar con fe, sabiendo que Dios nos escucha y se preocupa profundamente por nosotros y por aquellos que traemos a Él en oración. Al reflexionar sobre estos temas, recordamos la importancia de la oración en cada parte de nuestras vidas. Se nos anima a confiar más plenamente en Dios, orar con más sinceridad y confiar en Su amor para recibir guía y fortaleza. Santa Teresa de Lisieux describió la oración como una oleada del corazón.
