Did you really pay attention to the readings today? Jesus who usually tells us about love, such as the love of God, the love of family and the love of neighbor is now telling us to hate. To hate our father and mother, our brother and sisters and even our own selves. We must be careful of how we interpret what Jesus is saying. We need to know that this was ment to be understood in a symbolic manner. We must really love God more than we love others or ourselves.

He must be at the center of our lives. Following Jesus requires sacrifice and we must be willing to put Him above all else, even when it is difficult, even before family or friends. We need to be prepared for whatever happens in life. Faith is like that too. Faith takes real commitment with trust and strength. We need the Holy Spirit to guide us because we can’t know God’s ways on our own.

This means accepting struggles and hardships with trust in Him. Today we are reminded to count the cost, just like someone building a tower or a king preparing for battle. He wants us to understand that being His disciple is not always easy. The readings challenge us to think about what we are truly living for and if we are ready to follow Jesus with our whole heart. It is a struggle to stay faithful, because of peer pressure and distractions.

Through prayer, Scripture, and the support of others we can stay strong. Remember that Jesus is always with us. Our life on this earth is so brief but we need mercy and guidance to make our life meaningful. True joy comes from living in God’s favor. This week’s readings are not about hating others but about loving Christ above all else. We are challenged to think about what we might be clinging to that keeps us from fully following Jesus.

Contando el costo del discipulado

¿Prestaron atención a las lecturas de hoy? Jesús, quien suele hablarnos del amor, como el amor a Dios, el amor a la familia y el amor al prójimo, ahora nos dice que odiemos. Que odiemos a nuestro padre y a nuestra madre, a nuestros hermanos y hermanas, e incluso a nosotros mismos. Debemos ser cuidadosos con nuestra interpretación de lo que Jesús dice. Debemos saber que esto debía entenderse de forma simbólica. Debemos amar a Dios más que a los demás o a nosotros mismos.

Él debe ser el centro de nuestras vidas. Seguir a Jesús requiere sacrificio y debemos estar dispuestos a ponerlo por encima de todo, incluso cuando sea difícil, incluso antes que a la familia o los amigos. Necesitamos estar preparados para lo que suceda en la vida. La fe también es así. La fe requiere un compromiso real con confianza y fortaleza. Necesitamos la guía del Espíritu Santo porque no podemos conocer los caminos de Dios por nosotros mismos.

Esto significa aceptar las dificultades y las dificultades con confianza en Él. Hoy se nos recuerda que debemos calcular el costo, como quien construye una torre o un rey se prepara para la batalla. Nuestra vida en esta tierra es breve, pero necesitamos misericordia y guía para que nuestra vida tenga sentido. La verdadera alegría proviene de vivir en el favor de Dios. Las lecturas de esta semana no tratan sobre odiar a los demás, sino sobre amar a Cristo por encima de todo. Se nos desafía a pensar en aquello a lo que nos aferramos que nos impide seguir plenamente a Jesús.

Si no estamos dispuestos a hacer sacrificios o no nos arriesgamos a comenzar algo nuevo, no podremos terminarlo y obtener la victoria. ¿Qué áreas de tu vida necesitas confiar más plenamente a la sabiduría de Dios? .(PC)
