Readings this week focus on the growth of the early Church and Jesus’ command to love one another. These readings highlight the importance of faith, community, and the promise of a new heaven and earth.

Paul and Barnabas are spreading the good news, which shows us the importance of sharing our faith with others. They encourage believers to remain true to the faith despite hardships. This reminds us to stay strong in our faith through difficulties.

We also are focusing on Jesus’ new commandment to love one another. This is central to Christian life and shows how we should treat others. We should also honor God in all we do. We can do this by helping and supporting one another in our faith journeys.

We should live out our faith in practical ways and truly understand the importance of love, community, and the hope we have in God’s promises. Love is not just an emotion but a choice and action. It means being patient, kind, forgiving, and wanting the best for others, just as Jesus loved us.

This type of love often requires sacrifice and putting others’ needs before our own. By loving this way, we show we are true disciples of Christ. We should pray to God for the grace to show love, patience, kindness, and compassion to others.

We need to seek knowledge of our faith and what it means to be a Catholic, and we need to be in unity with the world and have the strength to help those in need. By praying for these blessings, we ask for the ability to live out Jesus’ commandment and truly express His love in our daily lives.

Are you aware that our faces can reflect our feelings and help us understand and connect with each other better? Try this little game next time you are with your family or friends:

Make a few cards with just one word on them like sad, happy, crying, angry, confused, love, scared, frightened, etc. on them. Each person takes a turn picking a card but not showing it to anyone else. They then must use their facial expressions only to convey what is on that card to see if the group is truly watching them.

It is a good game for the little ones because even if they are unable to read, someone can let them know what the word is, and they too can convey their facial reflections. This is especially a good game when there might be a little irritation going on among siblings.

Fe, comunidad y el poder del amor

Las lecturas de esta semana se centran en el crecimiento de la Iglesia primitiva y el mandato de Jesús de amarnos unos a otros. Estas lecturas resaltan la importancia de la fe, la comunidad y la promesa de un cielo y una tierra nuevos.

Pablo y Bernabé predican la buena nueva, lo que nos muestra la importancia de compartir nuestra fe con los demás. Animan a los creyentes a permanecer fieles a la fe a pesar de las dificultades. Esto nos recuerda que debemos mantenernos firmes en nuestra fe ante las dificultades.

También nos centramos en el nuevo mandamiento de Jesús de amarnos unos a otros. Esto es fundamental para la vida cristiana y muestra cómo debemos tratar a los demás. Asimismo, debemos honrar a Dios en todo lo que hacemos. Podemos lograrlo ayudándonos y apoyándonos mutuamente en nuestro camino de fe.

Debemos vivir nuestra fe de manera práctica y comprender verdaderamente la importancia del amor, la comunidad y la esperanza que tenemos en las promesas de Dios. El amor no es solo una emoción, sino una decisión y una acción. Significa ser paciente, amable, perdonar y desear lo mejor para los demás, tal como Jesús nos amó.

Este tipo de amor a menudo requiere sacrificio y anteponer las necesidades de los demás a las nuestras. Al amar de esta manera, demostramos que somos verdaderos discípulos de Cristo. Debemos orar a Dios por la gracia de mostrar amor, paciencia, bondad y compasión a los demás.

Necesitamos buscar el conocimiento de nuestra fe y lo que significa ser católico, y necesitamos estar en unidad con el mundo y tener la fuerza para ayudar a los necesitados. Al orar por estas bendiciones, pedimos la capacidad de vivir el mandamiento de Jesús y expresar verdaderamente su amor en nuestra vida diaria.

¿Sabes que nuestros rostros pueden reflejar nuestros sentimientos y ayudarnos a comprendernos y conectar mejor entre nosotros?

Prueba este pequeño juego la próxima vez que estés con tu familia o amigos:

Haz algunas tarjetas con una sola palabra como triste, feliz, llorando, enojado, confundido, amor, asustado, etc. Cada persona toma un turno para elegir una tarjeta, pero no se la muestra a nadie más. Luego deben usar solo sus expresiones faciales para transmitir lo que está en esa tarjeta y ver si el grupo realmente los está observando.

Es un buen juego para los pequeños porque, aunque no sepan leer, alguien puede explicarles la palabra y ellos también pueden imitar sus expresiones faciales.

Es especialmente bueno cuando hay un poco de irritación entre hermanos. El grupo suele reírse antes de terminar por todas las muecas.
