This week we are reminded about the importance of faith in everyday actions and the power of even the smallest acts of service. We are encouraged to recognize the gift of human life as a sign of hope and to defend life in all stages and circumstances and to understand that nothing can separate us from God’s love no matter what we might do. It is not enough to be a part of a parish family because for our faith to be alive we must share it with others through service. We should see the image of God in our neighbor no matter who they might be. We are encouraged to help those who refuse God’s love even during their difficult times. Phoenix, our state capital, should be a reminder to us. The phoenix is a mythical bird that, when newly hatched from the ashes, has little tender feathers and it can only leap rather than fly.

As it grows strong it soars freely in the air but not enough to remain in the air for very long and often comes down to earth to rest. When it is perfectly renewed in spirit and strength, it remains on the mountaintop. In heaven, we shall indeed have a heart and spirit entirely free from flaws and struggles. Yet right now we have neither the spirit nor strength for heaven. It is enough right now for us to love with all our heart, which means simply to love with a good heart and without reluctance. Let us have courage to revive our faith again and give it life by using the gifts God gave us to perform good works with a good heart, since this is in our power. Each person has something to offer, and we should use these gifts to help others. Serving God is not about seeking praise or rewards. It is about doing what is right because it is what God asks of us.

Faith and service belong together. When we trust God and serve with love, we show our faith in simple, everyday ways. As Jesus told the apostles, faith has tremendous power and only a small amount of faith can do incredible things. Faith can change the minds and hearts of believers so that the power of even a small amount of faith can make a big change. Jesus promises us that “If we have faith the size of a mustard seed, great things can happen”. Miracles are not just something we read about in the bible or hear each Sunday at Mass. Miracles are still happening today through the power of God and the complete faith of many of us. We should listen to the message of this Sunday and have a better understanding that our faith will lead us to experience new wonders of God’s love in our lives.

We need to trust in God’s plan, even when times are difficult. We should not ask God why He does not act when we ask for something but know that God has a plan, but it will happen in His time. The just must live by faith, trusting that God will fulfill His promises. True faith is humble obedience, not seeking praise but living as God’s servants. (PC)

La fe que se fortalece

Esta semana recordamos la importancia de la fe en las acciones cotidianas y el poder de incluso los más pequeños actos de servicio. Se nos anima a reconocer el don de la vida humana como signo de esperanza y a defenderla en todas las etapas y circunstancias, y a comprender que nada puede separarnos del amor de Dios, sin importar lo que hagamos. No basta con ser parte de una familia parroquial; para que nuestra fe esté viva, debemos compartirla con los demás a través del servicio. Debemos ver la imagen de Dios en nuestro prójimo, sin importar quién sea. Se nos anima a ayudar a quienes rechazan el amor de Dios, incluso en sus momentos difíciles. Phoenix, la capital de nuestro estado, debería ser un recordatorio para nosotros. El fénix es un ave mítica que, recién nacida de las cenizas, tiene pequeñas y tiernas plumas y solo puede saltar en lugar de volar.

A medida que se fortalece, se eleva libremente, pero no lo suficiente como para permanecer en el aire mucho tiempo, y a menudo desciende a la tierra para descansar. Cuando se renueva por completo en espíritu y fuerza, permanece en la cima de la montaña. En el cielo, ciertamente tendremos un corazón y un espíritu completamente libres de defectos y luchas. Sin embargo, ahora mismo no tenemos ni el espíritu ni la fuerza para el cielo. Es suficiente ahora mismo para nosotros amar con todo nuestro corazón, lo que significa simplemente amar con un buen corazón y sin renuencia. Tengamos el coraje de reavivar nuestra fe nuevamente y darle vida usando los dones que Dios nos dio para realizar buenas obras con un buen corazón, ya que esto está en nuestro poder. Cada persona tiene algo que ofrecer, y debemos usar estos dones para ayudar a los demás. Servir a Dios no se trata de buscar elogios o recompensas. Se trata de hacer lo correcto porque es lo que Dios nos pide.

La fe y el servicio van de la mano. Cuando confiamos en Dios y servimos con amor, mostramos nuestra fe en formas simples y cotidianas. Como Jesús les dijo a los apóstoles, la fe tiene un poder tremendo y solo una pequeña cantidad de fe puede hacer cosas increíbles. La fe puede cambiar las mentes y los corazones de los creyentes de modo que el poder de incluso una pequeña cantidad de fe puede hacer un gran cambio. Jesús nos promete que «si tenemos fe del tamaño de un grano de mostaza, grandes cosas pueden suceder». Los milagros no son solo algo que leemos en la Biblia o escuchamos cada domingo en la misa. Siguen ocurriendo hoy gracias al poder de Dios y a la fe plena de muchos de nosotros. Deberíamos escuchar el mensaje de este domingo y comprender mejor que nuestra fe nos llevará a experimentar nuevas maravillas del amor de Dios en nuestras vidas.

Necesitamos confiar en el plan de Dios, incluso en tiempos difíciles. No debemos preguntarle a Dios por qué no actúa cuando le pedimos algo, sino saber que Dios tiene un plan, y que este se cumplirá a su tiempo. Los justos deben vivir por fe, confiando en que Dios cumplirá sus promesas. La verdadera fe es obediencia humilde, no buscando la alabanza, sino viviendo como siervos de Dios. (PC)
