This Sunday, the Fourth Sunday of Easter, is also known as Good Shepherd Sunday because it focuses on Jesus as the Good Shepherd. He cares for His sheep, calls them by name, and leads them to safety.

Jesus reminds us that His sheep hear His voice and follow Him. This shows the close connection between Jesus and those who believe in Him.

Jesus also speaks about eternal life—living forever with God in heaven. He promises this to those who follow Him.

The readings also speak about spreading the Good News. Paul and Barnabas boldly shared the message of Jesus, even when faced with challenges. Their example encourages us to share our faith with others so they can also hear Jesus’ voice.

We never know when someone might be watching and paying attention—not only to our words but also our actions.

You most probably have heard “actions speak louder than words,” and I personally can tell you that is true.

Some of you already know that my own faith was tested, and I was away for a while (years ago). But when I did come back, a coworker said to me, “I want to come to church with you.”

Of course, I was amazed because only a few people knew that I was again attending Mass regularly. But this coworker spent a lot of time with me—even traveling together to other countries.

So, I asked her why she wanted to come to Mass with me, because I didn’t think I had acted any differently.

Her words to me were: “You now have a peace within you that I would like to have.”

She was part of a religious belief that did not celebrate the little things in life—like Christmas or birthdays. But she must have seen the joy of my everyday celebration of life that following Jesus gave me.

We are reminded that Jesus calls everyone.

The vision in Revelation shows a great crowd from every nation standing before God.

This tells us that Jesus welcomes all people to follow Him. His love is for everyone, no matter where they come from.

Listening to Jesus can be hard with the noise of the world around us.

We need to make time to focus on His voice.

When we do, we will find peace and hope in His promise of eternal life.

Domingo del Buen Pastor

Este domingo, el cuarto domingo de Pascua, también se conoce como el Domingo del Buen Pastor porque se centra en Jesús como el Buen Pastor.

Él cuida de sus ovejas, las llama por su nombre y las guía a un lugar seguro.

Jesús nos recuerda que sus ovejas escuchan su voz y lo siguen.

Esto demuestra la estrecha conexión entre Jesús y quienes creen en Él.

Jesús también habla de la vida eterna, vivir para siempre con Dios en el cielo. Jesús promete esto a quienes lo siguen.

Las lecturas también hablan sobre difundir la Buena Nueva.

Pablo y Bernabé compartieron con valentía el mensaje de Jesús, incluso al enfrentar desafíos.

Su ejemplo nos anima a compartir nuestra fe con otros, para que también puedan escuchar la voz de Jesús.

Nunca sabemos cuándo alguien podría estar observando y prestando atención, no solo a nuestras palabras, sino también a nuestras acciones.

Probablemente hayan escuchado la frase "las acciones hablan más que las palabras", y personalmente puedo asegurarles que es cierto.

Algunos de ustedes ya saben que mi fe fue puesta a prueba y estuve ausente por un tiempo (hace años), pero cuando regresé, un compañero de trabajo me dijo: "Quiero ir a la iglesia contigo."

Claro, me asombró que solo unos pocos supieran que volvía a asistir a misa con regularidad, pero esta compañera de trabajo pasaba mucho tiempo conmigo, incluso viajando juntas a otros países.

Así que le pregunté por qué quería venir a misa conmigo, ya que no creía haber actuado de forma diferente.

Sus palabras fueron: "Ahora tienes una paz interior que me gustaría tener."

Ella pertenecía a una religión que no celebraba las pequeñas cosas de la vida, como la Navidad o los cumpleaños, pero debió haber visto la alegría de mi celebración diaria de la vida, que me daba seguir a Jesús.

Recordamos que Jesús llama a todos.

La visión del Apocalipsis muestra una gran multitud de todas las naciones ante Dios.

Esto nos dice que Jesús da la bienvenida a todos a seguirlo.

Su amor es para todos, sin importar de dónde vengan.

Escuchar a Jesús puede ser difícil con el ruido del mundo que nos rodea.

Necesitamos dedicar tiempo a concentrarnos en Su voz.

Cuando lo hagamos, encontraremos paz y esperanza en Su promesa de vida eterna.

En este Domingo del Buen Pastor, espero que encuentres tu paz interior siguiendo y creyendo en Jesús. (PC)
