This week we need to look at how we treat others. The readings warn against selfishness and ignoring those in need. God asks us to live with kindness and care, not to turn away from the poor or weak. Our faith is shown in how we act towards others. We are warned against being self-satisfied while others suffer, We hear about those who live in comfort while others do not. God wants justice for all people not just some of the people. God lifts the lowly and cares for the hungry, the sick, and the forgotten and if we love God and want to follow Him, we should be helping others, not just caring for ourselves.

In the Gospel, Jesus narrated a parable contrasting a rich man’s luxurious life with Lazarus, a destitute man. It shows what happens when we close our hearts to others. After death, Lazarus found comfort with Abraham, while the rich man suffered. The rich man’s plea for relief and a warning for his brothers was denied. The rich man’s mistake was not his wealth but his failure to use it to help others.This story shows us the abundance of Moses and the prophets’ teachings. We should listen always to God’s words and live them every day because it is a call to have love, mercy and hope for all.

We should challenge ourselves to reflect on our own lives and consider what our eternal life offers us. God does see and judges our indifference to others, especially when we ignore the daily needs of those who have little. Living a good life means avoiding not only bad actions but also requires us to have good virtues. Our actions have consequences beyond this life because it also has an influence on our eternal destiny. We need to pay attention to Scripture as a guide to our lives. We are reminded that all power and authority ultimately belong to God, and we are to live in a way that honors Him. We need to examine our own lives and make sure that our actions are what God expects of us. We should live not just for today, but with an eye and heart toward our eternal reward. “HEAVEN” (PC)

Justicia y Misericordia

Esta semana necesitamos ver cómo tratamos a los demás. Las lecturas advierten contra el egoísmo y el ignorar a los necesitados. Dios nos pide vivir con bondad y cuidado, no alejarnos de los pobres o débiles. Nuestra fe se muestra en cómo actuamos hacia los demás. Se nos advierte contra la autocomplacencia mientras otros sufren. Oímos hablar de quienes viven en la comodidad mientras que otros no. Dios quiere justicia para todas las personas, no solo para algunos. Dios eleva a los humildes y cuida de los hambrientos, los enfermos y los olvidados, y si amamos a Dios y queremos seguirlo, deberíamos ayudar a los demás, no solo cuidar de nosotros mismos.

En el Evangelio, Jesús narró una parábola que contrastaba la vida lujosa de un hombre rico con Lázaro, un hombre indigente. Muestra lo que sucede cuando cerramos nuestros corazones a los demás. Después de la muerte, Lázaro encontró consuelo en Abraham, mientras que el hombre rico sufría. La súplica del hombre rico por alivio y una advertencia para sus hermanos fue denegada. El error del hombre rico no fue su riqueza, sino no usarla para ayudar a los demás. Esta historia nos muestra la abundancia de las enseñanzas de Moisés y los profetas. Debemos escuchar siempre la palabra de Dios y vivirla a diario, porque es un llamado a tener amor, misericordia y esperanza para todos.

Debemos desafiarnos a reflexionar sobre nuestra propia vida y considerar lo que nos ofrece la vida eterna. Dios ve y juzga nuestra indiferencia hacia los demás, especialmente cuando ignoramos las necesidades diarias de quienes tienen poco. Vivir una buena vida significa no solo evitar las malas acciones, sino también tener buenas virtudes. Nuestras acciones tienen consecuencias más allá de esta vida, ya que también influyen en nuestro destino eterno. Debemos prestar atención a las Escrituras como guía para nuestra vida. Se nos recuerda que todo el poder y la autoridad pertenecen en última instancia a Dios, y que debemos vivir de una manera que lo honre. Necesitamos examinar nuestra propia vida y asegurarnos de que nuestras acciones sean lo que Dios espera de nosotros.
