Pastoral Corner for November 10, 2024
11/10/2024 | Pastoral CornerDear Parish Family,
Starting Friday, November 15 come out and enjoy an evening of Catholic enrichment as we kick off our monthly evening Mass at 5 pm the third Friday of the month, leading into a Holy Hour for Priests, then the debut of Good to be Catholic.
I will be talking about authentic conversion, and the attributes we strive to obtain along the way.
Traditionally the month of November is set aside to pray for the dead, and to commend them to God in the repose of their soul. Our mortality is an important aspect of our human condition to contemplate as we learn to focus more on the hereafter, and the things of heaven. Our attachments to the world are often the dangers that affect our soul and could impact how we manage to get to heaven. For some materialism, for others the lifestyles they can’t get enough of. By contrast a life in the Spirit constantly challenges our spiritual development and ability to move deeper into authentic conversion. The four cornerstones of a well-developed conversion will be revealed as I unpack these aspects of faith that often-become part of our daily life.
Come join us for this special event, you’ll be glad you did.
