This Sunday we are reminded to stop and think about what really matters. It is easy to focus on money, success, and things we own. But these do not last, there is something greater. This week we hear that working hard just to gain wealth is empty. Life is short. We cannot take anything with us.

We need to ask God to help us use our time well because each day is a gift. In the Gospel, Jesus tells a story about a man who saves up his riches. The man is proud of all he owns but God calls him a fool. That night, like most people, the man is not ready for his life to end because he is not ready for death. Jesus teaches us to be rich in what matters to God. We need to look up, not down and we need to focus on heaven.

When we follow Christ, we become new as we let go of sin and learn to live in love and truth. (PC)

Lo que Realmente más Importa

Este domingo se nos recuerda que debemos detenernos y pensar en lo que realmente importa. Es fácil centrarse en el dinero, el éxito y las posesiones. Pero estas no duran, hay algo más grande. Esta semana escuchamos que trabajar duro solo para ganar riquezas es vano. La vida es corta. No podemos llevarnos nada.

Necesitamos pedirle a Dios que nos ayude a usar bien nuestro tiempo porque cada día es un regalo. En el Evangelio, Jesús cuenta la historia de un hombre que ahorra sus riquezas. El hombre está orgulloso de todo lo que posee, pero Dios lo llama necio. Esa noche, como la mayoría de las personas, el hombre no está listo para el final de su vida porque no está listo para la muerte. Jesús nos enseña a ser ricos en lo que le importa a Dios. Necesitamos mirar hacia arriba, no hacia abajo, y enfocarnos en el cielo.
