Ordinary Time continues to show us the way to live a fruitful life. Jesus is telling us what the Kingdom of God is likened to.

He tells us the kingdom is like fine pearls that are discovered. We learn that when we search for our treasure, we bury it only to uncover it again with renewed excitement and gratitude.

The parables Jesus presents in this Gospel invite us to reflect on what it means to be a true disciple. The man who finds the hidden treasure and the merchant who discovers the pearl of great value realize they have found something that surpasses any other wealth. Therefore, they are joyfully willing to leave everything behind to possess that treasure. Such must be the heart of the disciple.

This Sunday's Gospel presents Jesus' parable of the wheat and the weeds, reminding us of God's patience, mercy, and wisdom.

In the story, the servants want to pull up the weeds immediately, but the master tells them to wait until the harvest. While this may seem surprising, it reveals an important truth about God's love for us.

How can God work with an unconfessed heart? He can’t! How can He grow us in faith? God can work with only the willing, let that sink in. How willing are you?

Ordinary Time never disappoints, as we can contemplate some of the most foundational aspects of our faith as Catholics.

We have now turned our attention toward managing the seeds that we sow, and our desire to maintain a direct focus on Christ, and to realize that the Gospel of Mathew today unfolds for us three distinct lessons.

In Chapter 13 of the Gospel according to Matthew, Jesus begins to teach through parables, using simple images from everyday life to reveal profound truths about the Kingdom of God. The Parable of the Sower is one of the best-known, yet also one of the most challenging, because it invites us not merely to listen to the Word, but to ask ourselves how we are welcoming it into our lives. The sower goes out to sow without making distinctions. The seed falls on the path, on rocky ground, among thorns, and on good soil.

What kind of Sower are you? It’s an important question to ask. We sow thousands and thousands of seeds in lifetime.

We never know the mark we leave behind because of the seeds we sow and scatter. A Sower of good and holy seed sows principally faith, hope, and love. A Sower of holiness avoids seeds that are partially harmful, corrupted, and corrupted seeds.

Are we willing and ready to belong to God?

Delving deep into our Scripture passages today, as well as the Gospel of Matthew, we are secured in our desire to know God most intimately.

We are encouraged to seek understanding, to strive for forgiveness when necessary, and to reconcile with God most definitely, and with one another when at all possible.

In today's Gospel, Jesus offers one of the most comforting invitations in all of Scripture: "Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest." These words speak to every person who carries the weight of life's challenges. We all experience moments of stress, disappointment, grief, illness, family struggles, financial concerns, or uncertainty about the future. At times, these burdens can seem overwhelming. Jesus reminds us that we do not have to carry them alone.
