Financial Council
The Finance Council provides sound business analysis and consults and assists the Pastor to act justly and prudently in the administration of the parish’s temporal goods.
Unlike the Pastoral Council, which represents the entire parish, the Finance Council assists the Pastor in a specific area of pastoral ministry, the administration of parish goods.

My name is Victoria Sanchez, and I am a proud Nana, mom, wife, and small business owner here in Chino Valley, Arizona. As a real estate broker, I strive to give 100% to my clients, no matter how big or small. That same dedication is something I bring to both my personal life and to my parish community at St. Catherine's.
I was born in Mexico and brought to this country at three years old. Here, I was raised in the local area, and became an active member of St. Catherine's parish over twenty years ago. Over the years, I have served my parish in many capacities: Currently I am serving as the President of the Finance Council after previously serving as President of the Pastoral Council;I assist Father with Diocesen Finance duties, coordinate real estate and contractor activities for the Council, and serve as a liaison for our Hispanic parish community. I work full time as a Real Estate Broker and when I’m not doing that, or helping out with many activities at the church. I am a Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister, and usher; outside my involvement at St. Catherine's, I love spending time with my family who I love dearly and, naturally, I have a deep love for serving my Lord in any way that I can.

We moved to Chino Valley 29 years ago and joined the parish at that time. I began lectoring shortly after arriving and a few years later, I joined the Pastoral Council and served on the Pastoral Council for 24 years, as I have always felt that volunteering toward supporting church and community activities is an important part of life.
I retired from the Chino Valley Unified School District in 2021 after 25 years of coaching and teaching at the middle school. In addition to my teaching certification, I hold a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Business Administration.
I sought a position on the Finance Council because I wanted to positively contribute to the parish community by supporting the focus of the Finance Council which is to advise and aid the pastor in the administration of the parish goods, (finances, buildings and grounds). I coordinate the collection counters and have been helping develop a plan for short, medium, and long term capital improvement and maintenance projects in the parish. I am also working with appropriate Diocesen departments to help create a set of guidelines for parishioners who wish to make donations to St. Catherine’s of real property, cash, endowments or other financial assets.
Our parish is a friendly, warm community where you can find friends who can encourage and support you. There are several ministries that are working with Father Michael furthering the spiritual side of the parish, but I feel it essential that we as Finance Council have some parish SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bound) Goals and use data to help aid in decision making relating to the managing the business side of the parish.

My family and I moved to the area and joined the parish three years ago. Not long after, I started volunteering as a collection counter, wanting to get involved and give back. In 2024, I was honored to join the Finance Council and now serve as Vice-President. In this role, I help coordinate our parish facility planning, working closely with the town, architects, and our parish groups to keep budget planning on track. I also help lead our parish collection counting teams.
Before retiring, I served as a Captain with the San Bernardino County (CA) Fire Department. One of the greatest joys of my career was mentoring over 60 young firefighters through the Fire Explorer program. I was humbled and honored when a training facility at one of our stations was named after me.
These days, when I'm not working with the parish, I spend as much time as I can with my family and my five horses. I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve our parish community wherever I'm needed.
