Rejoice in the Lord Always, Again I Say Rejoice !!!

Gaudete Sunday or Rejoice Sunday is the Third Sunday of Advent reserved for lighting the one and only liturgical rose-colored candle for the Fruit of the Holy Spirit of JOY.

Each candle of the Advent wreath brings us a new Fruit of the Holy Spirit to learn to live by, and to build our foundation of faith. We have come a long way, building upon Hope, Peace, and now Joy as the pillars that will hold us up and lead us to the final candle of LOVE.

With every passing Advent Candle we do not merely leave them behind once lit, but we continue to build upon and combine these spiritual fruits that are meant to help in our journey of conversion. Advent and the Advent Wreath are the instruments of faith that guide us and sustain us. We have learned what it is to be spiritually mature, and that by taking on the integrity of the spiritual life by living in kindness, charity, righteousness, and avoiding the ways of immaturity marked by sin, we move deeper into the transformative life. This is the life of saints, who strive to do what is good and right at every moment.

John the Baptist is the greatest icon in Sacred Scripture associated with turning away from darkness and moving toward the light. This is the whole point of a Christ centered life, yet as humans go, we tend to do foolish things, we who strive to be Godly are on occasion ungodly, because our behaviors have gotten the best of us as we slip away in darkness. In these moments we are reminded of the message of John the Baptist as the voice crying out in the wilderness to make way the straight path.

Jesus had no intention for us to meander but to have a direct and intentional direction. There is no time to waste when it comes to our salvation.The question is, are we on the road to spiritual maturity, are we marked with holy intention in our heart's desires? If we are then move forward, stay steadfast and surefooted in the path, if not then correct the sin or obstacles getting in the way of our eternal inheritance.

Gaudete affirms our direction rooted in the hope of Christ, the cross and the fact that he comes to us as one of us and that we should rejoice and lift up our hearts to the Lord because JOY is not a feeling like CHARITY is not a feeling, nor HOPE or LOVE but rather they are the realization of our being connected to the Paschal Mystery. The Fruit of the Holy Spirit of JOY opens up for us to be grateful for our gift of salvation, and desire to never let anything threaten it, whether our sin, or inability to see our flawed nature. To the contrary we despise sin, and are revolted at its presence, so much that we are driven to confession at the moment of our failing.

JOY as a spiritual fruit is a remedy for our shortcomings that constantly want us to be unified with God. Allow his JOY in you to be complete. Allow his JOY to alter your disposition to put on the proper attire to join the Lamb of God at the feast.

This week is our turning point, it is where the rubber hits the road, that we are decisive because of the JOY in our hearts and dance in our step that we are focused upon the coming of the Lord. We stand withl our lamps lit, ready to meet the bridegroom when he comes.

Domingo de Gaudete

¡Alegrense siempre en el Senor! ;De nuevo les digo: Alegrense!

El Domingo de Gaudete, o Domingo de la Alegría, es el tercer domingo de Adviento, reservado para encender la única vela litúrgica de color rosa, que representa el Fruto del Espíritu Santo de la ALEGRÍA.

Cada vela de la corona de Adviento nos trae un nuevo Fruto del Espíritu Santo para aprender a vivir según él y construir los cimientos de nuestra fe. Hemos recorrido un largo camino, edificando sobre la Esperanza, la Paz y ahora la Alegría, pilares que nos sostendrán y nos guiarán hacia la última vela del AMOR.

Con cada vela de Adviento que encendemos, no las dejamos atrás, sino que continuamos construyendo y combinando estos frutos espirituales que están destinados a ayudarnos en nuestro camino de conversión. El Adviento y la corona de Adviento son los instrumentos de fe que nos guían y nos sostienen. Hemos aprendido lo que significa ser espiritualmente maduros, y que al asumir la integridad de la vida espiritual, viviendo con bondad, caridad y rectitud, y evitando los caminos de la inmadurez marcados por el pecado, nos adentramos más profundamente en la vida transformadora. Esta es la vida de los santos, que se esfuerzan por hacer lo bueno y lo correcto en cada momento.

Juan el Bautista es el mayor icono en la Sagrada Escritura asociado con apartarse de la oscuridad y avanzar hacia la luz. Este es el propósito de una vida centrada en Cristo; sin embargo, como seres humanos, tendemos a cometer errores, nosotros que nos esforzamos por ser piadosos, en ocasiones somos impios, porque nuestros comportamientos nos dominan y nos extraviamos en la oscuridad. En estos momentos, recordamos el mensaje de Juan el Bautista, la voz que clama en el desierto para preparar el camino recto.

Jesús no tenía la intención de que nos desviáramos, sino de que tuviéramos una dirección directa e intencionada. No hay tiempo que perder cuando se trata de nuestra salvación.

La pregunta es: ¿Estamos en el camino hacia la madurez espiritual? ¿Tenemos intenciones santas en los deseos de nuestro corazón? Si es así, avancemos, mantengámonos firmes y seguros en el camino; si no, corrijamos el pecado o los obstáculos que se interponen en el camino hacia nuestra herencia eterna. Gaudete reafirma nuestra dirección, arraigada en la esperanza de Cristo, la cruz y el hecho de que Él viene a nosotros como uno de nosotros, y que debemos regocijarnos y elevar nuestros corazones al Señor, porque la alegría no es un sentimiento, como tampoco lo son la caridad, la esperanza o el amor, sino que son la realización de nuestra conexión con el Misterio Pascual.

El fruto del Espíritu Santo, la alegría, nos abre a la gratitud por el don de la salvación y al deseo de que nada la amenace, ni nuestro pecado ni nuestra incapacidad para reconocer nuestra naturaleza imperfecta. Al contrario, aborrecemos el pecado y nos repugna su presencia, tanto que nos sentimos impulsados a la confesión en el momento de nuestra caída. La alegría, como fruto espiritual, es un remedio para nuestras deficiencias que nos impulsa constantemente a la unión con Dios. Permite que su alegría en ti sea completa. Permite que su alegría transforme tu disposición para que te vistas adecuadamente y te unas al Cordero de Dios en el banquete.

Esta semana es un punto de inflexión, es el momento decisivo, en el que, gracias a la alegría en nuestros corazones y al gozo en nuestros pasos, nos centramos en la venida del Señor. Permanecemos con nuestras lámparas encendidas, listos para recibir al esposo cuando llegue.

Encarna la alegría en todas las cosas.
