God Loves and Calls His People

Last week, we heard how God provides for His people; this week, God shows us that He loves us and calls us to follow Him by trusting Him. We are also asked to go out and to serve rather than to be served. The disciples were given the task of sharing His message and caring for others, and we are called to do the same. We are chosen, loved, and sent to bring hope to the world.

God asks us to obey Him because He knows what is best for us. God’s laws are not meant to be a burden but a guide for a good and holy life. Obedience to God brings peace, purpose, and many blessings. No one needs to earn God’s love because it is freely given through Jesus when He died on the cross for our sins. Jesus gave His life to save people, even when they were far from God. Jesus’ death was an act of love that opened the way for everyone to be forgiven. Sin separates people from God, but through faith and repentance, we can receive His mercy and be close to Him again. As good followers, we need to share what God has given us without expecting anything in return. This means offering kindness, help, and faith to others without looking for rewards. Serving others with love is part of being a follower of Christ. We all need to be missionary disciples, but it does not always mean preaching. It can be as simple as showing kindness, inviting someone to Mass, or praying for others. Think about how God has called you and how you can answer God’s call. (PC)

Dios Ama y Llama a Su Pueblo

La semana pasada escuchamos cómo Dios provee a su pueblo; esta semana, Dios nos muestra que nos ama y nos llama a seguirlo, confiando en Él. También se nos pide salir y servir, en lugar de ser servidos. A los discípulos se les encomendó la tarea de compartir su mensaje y cuidar de los demás, y nosotros estamos llamados a hacer lo mismo. Somos elegidos, amados y enviados para llevar esperanza al mundo. Dios nos pide que le obedezcamos porque Él sabe lo que es mejor para nosotros. Las leyes de Dios no pretenden ser una carga, sino una guía para una vida buena y santa.

La obediencia a Dios trae paz, propósito y muchas bendiciones. Nadie necesita ganarse el amor de Dios, pues este se nos otorga gratuitamente a través de Jesús, cuando Él murió en la cruz por nuestros pecados. Jesús entregó su vida para salvar a las personas, incluso cuando estas se encontraban lejos de Dios. La muerte de Jesús fue un acto de amor que abrió el camino para que todos pudieran ser perdonados. El pecado separa a las personas de Dios, pero, a través de la fe y el arrepentimiento, podemos recibir su misericordia y volver a estar cerca de Él. Como buenos seguidores, debemos compartir lo que Dios nos ha dado, sin esperar nada a cambio. Esto implica ofrecer bondad, ayuda y fe a los demás, sin buscar recompensas. Servir a los demás con amor es parte de ser seguidor de Cristo. Todos estamos llamados a ser discípulos misioneros, aunque esto no siempre signifique predicar. Puede ser algo tan sencillo como mostrar bondad, invitar a alguien a Misa o rezar por los demás. Reflexiona sobre cómo te ha llamado Dios y cómo puedes responder a su llamado. (PC)
