Our faith is not something we should keep hidden. This week we hear Jesus say that we should be like salt and light. These are simple items, but they help us understand what it means to be followers of Christ. This Sunday we read that we should help others, we should care for the poor, we should be kind and trust in God. We need to point ourselves to Jesus and live in a way that points others to God. Our faith must show in our actions not just in our words. By serving and helping others we reflect God's love.

We are called to live with kindness, courage, and trust and in turn we make the world a better place in which to live. By sharing with the hungry, sheltering the oppressed and clothing the naked we find healing and helping others brings light into the darkness. We need to be good people by being kind, honest and generous. Jesus tells us to be the salt and light of the world, showing our good works to other and that by serving others we are serving Him. We don't need to be rich to help others just a small gesture can make someone feel special and cared for, we don't need fancy words or wisdom just a smile can help someone have a better day.

Doing good works is not for praise, but to give glory to God. Faith is not in human leadership but in the Spirit and power of God. Our faith should not be based on a certain priest, deacon or lay-minister but instead relying on God and our own actions. Remember if salt loses its flavor, it is no longer useful and if we are not living our faith, we are not being who we are called to be "the salt of the earth". Let God's power shine through you and not the power of another human. Salt can make food taste better and keeps it from going bad and like the salt we need to make the world a better place and help keep goodness alive and if we do nothing, we are like salt that has lost its power.

This week challenge yourself to help others just a little more, to trust in God just a little more and to shine like a bright light in this world just a little more. (PC)

Deja Que Tu Luz Brille Con Intensidad

Nuestra fe no es algo que debamos mantener oculto. Esta semana escuchamos a Jesús decir que debemos ser como la sal y la luz. Son elementos sencillos, pero nos ayudan a comprender lo que significa ser seguidores de Cristo. Este domingo leemos que debemos ayudar a los demás, cuidar de los pobres, ser amables y confiar en Dios. Necesitamos dirigirnos a Jesús y vivir de una manera que guíe a otros hacia Dios. Nuestra fe debe manifestarse en nuestras acciones, no solo en nuestras palabras. Al servir y ayudar a los demás, reflejamos el amor de Dios.

Estamos llamados a vivir con bondad, valentía y confianza, y de esta manera hacemos del mundo un lugar mejor para vivir. Al compartir con los hambrientos, dar refugio a los oprimidos y vestir a los desnudos, encontramos sanación, y ayudar a los demás trae luz a la oscuridad. Necesitamos ser buenas personas siendo amables, honestas y generosas. Jesús nos dice que seamos la sal y la luz del mundo, mostrando nuestras buenas obras a los demás, y que al servir a los demás, lo servimos a Él. No necesitamos ser ricos para ayudar a los demás; un pequeño gesto puede hacer que alguien se sienta especial y querido. No necesitamos palabras elegantes ni sabiduría; una simple sonrisa puede alegrarle el día a alguien.

Hacer buenas obras no es para recibir elogios, sino para dar gloria a Dios. La fe no reside en el liderazgo humano, sino en el Espíritu y el poder de Dios. Nuestra fe no debe basarse en un sacerdote, diácono o ministro laico en particular, sino en la confianza en Dios y en nuestras propias acciones. Recuerden que si la sal pierde su sabor, deja de ser útil, y si no vivimos nuestra fe, no estamos siendo quienes estamos llamados a ser: "la sal de la tierra". Dejen que el poder de Dios brille a través de ustedes y no el poder de otro ser humano. La sal realza el sabor de la comida y evita que se eche a perder, y al igual que la sal, necesitamos hacer del mundo un lugar mejor y ayudar a mantener viva la bondad. Si no hacemos nada, somos como la sal que ha perdido su poder.

Esta semana, desafiense a sí mismos a ayudar un poco más a los demás, a confiar un poco más en Dios y a brillar como una luz resplandeciente en este mundo, un poquito mas. (PC)
